military aviation isn't as cool as it seems. no where in 'Topgun' did you see the aviators studying their FTIs, preparing their charts or get downs/pinks sheets/IPCs or FPCs. no, i'm not saying that military aviation isn't cool. i'm just saying that its 'coolness' has been misrepresented. most singaporean men (and some women) would understand what i mean. you watch saf advertisments. i am amazed at how good they are! soldiers, divers, aviators. looking cool as hell. looking, cool as hell. but when you really get down to it, you'd think to yourself,'hey.. this wasn't what i signed up for.. i wanted to storm buildings and take out enemies.. not sign 7 extra duties for the oil stain on the armskote book..' when you walk out to your aircraft in the morning, the wind doesn't always blow, nothing is in slow motion, and the topgun music definitely, positively, does not play in the background.. believe me, i've lived it.
