the weekend was refreshing.. but i so hated waking up this morning.. much of saturday was spent stoning at home until i got too bored.. headed to lido to catch a sound of thunder with garrie and gab.. boy was it lame.. not to forget the lame cgi.. the creatures look so darn fake.. the cars on the streets look like they were projected onto a screen with the actors reading their lines in front of it.. yes, some parts are pretty cool but much of it.. bleah. headed to my grandparents' on sunday afternoon.. grandma's birthday/mid autumn lunch(?).. kids running amok, many many food.. went out with Xian Zhen in the evening.. had dinner then a movie at PS.. the longest yard.. not one of the best films by adam sandler but i way surpasses a sound of thunder.. after a long week at work (this week is many times worst), a good laugh was just what the doctor ordered.. we had trouble wobbling to the cinema since we had such a huge meal.. didn't expect the servings to be so big!.. but hey.. value for money? haha.. i'm surprised she could bare with my nonsense (she's pretty powerful herself).. this week's gonna be lame.. i'm staying in from tue - fri.. too much work, too little time.. bleah.. sucks.. another soccer match on wednesday, ACPC for C and H wings.. there's so many things i have to bring to camp tml.. lots of clothes, boots, gloves, No.2 uniform, black shoes.. argh.. a logistical disaster..

its been a tiring week.. army half marathon on sunday, 21km of 'fun'.. soccer match against 'A' wing on wed night, barely recovered from AHM, today, Platoon Assault Course with the cadets.. my poor poor legs.. the shin's starting to ache real bad.. AHM was quite ok.. fun even.. except for the finishing leg (pardon the pun) when my lower limbs start to go on strike.. each step hurt but i enjoyed the company while on the road.. the soccer match was weird.. kick off was at 7pm at the SAFTI stadium.. flood lights were on.. almost like a match at anfield or some other major pitch (almost).. ok.. maybe it wasn't that grand but... i was keeper.. in my new boots and gloves.. haven't played for so so long so i was kinda jittery about my performance.. warm up was ok.. the match starts and all hell broke lose.. we haven't had the chance to play as a team before so things weren't as smooth as it could be, unlike our opponents.. i had to face so many 1 on 1s with the opposing forwards.. thank goodness i had enough in me to save each of these encounters.. nonetheless, we lost by 2 goals.. the defence was undeniable weak so.. oh well.. it was a good game.. at least i performed well enough to have them crown me as their permanent goalie.. -_-" great.. more sliding around at the opponents in my penalty box again.. bleah.. Platoon Assualt Course (PAC) was lame.. as usual.. walk walk walk shoot shoot shoot... then walk walk walk.. haha.. shin hurts after all that fast marching.. i bushed.. gonna go catch some Zzz..

'Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.'
-Hub McCann- Secondhand Lions

finally took the time to watch this show on HBO.. heard and seen trailers of this show a couple of years back and swore that i would catch this show.. but.. well.. here it is, after 2 years.. heartwarming and entertaining, i must say, these 2 hours of my saturday evening wasn't a waste..

a touching story about Walter, an introverted child who gets left at his 2 eccentric uncles' door step by his irresponsible mom.. seeming cold and grumpy, the 2 eccentric old men, together with Walter form an unlikely familial bond.. i especially enjoy the conclusion of the film, whereby Mae, Walter's mom came to take him away.. Hub, Walter's uncle commented to Garth (the other uncle) how he wished Walter didn't have to go.. 'maybe we can buy him from her.. how much money have we got left?'.. despite knowing that Mae has all the rights to take him home, and that he could never 'buy' the child, he tris futilely to deny the fact that there was nothing he nor Garth could do to keep him, yet, at the same time, trys to keep his masculine image and not break down.. this really touched me.. many other scenes that moved me as well but i think you guys can check this movie out on your own.. 4.5 popcorns out of 5..

haven't been blogging coz i haven't been feeling motivated enough to do so.. and that there isn't anything interesting to write.. work has been hectic.. and demoralising.. and my social life's gone down the drain.. my typical week day.. rise and shine at 6am.. leave my pad at 640am.. usually reach my camp at about 730am.. breakfast in camp at about 9am.. work till 12pm then go for swim till 130pm.. work till 530pm.. free time thereafter.. day in day out.. bleah.. went to watch 'one more chance' (is that e title? that local show about prisoners being released?).. i was a pretty good show.. UNTIL THE LAST 5 MINS WHICH SCREWED IT UP BIG TIME! hilarious(esp all the hokkien and stuff), and touching at times.. but the end.. gasp.. i shan't spill the beans here but if u get a chance to watch it, you'll know.. but all in all, its still worth watching.. give the locals a chance.. haha.. spent my saturday stoneing at home as usual.. went to sushi tei at paragon with XZ on sunday evening.. sort of like celebrating her birthday.. the restaurant's pretty interesting.. i asked for a table for 2.. the lady brought us to this cute little 'cubical'.. a table with a 'L' shaped cushion/couch.. innovative way of saving space and ensuring that the 2 occupying the seat are sufficiently cosy.. haha.. food was not bad.. the portions were huge and the both of us had trouble finishing up our food.. ended of with dessert.. went roaming about town for the rest of the evening.. needless to say, i thoroughly enjoyed my evening.. met junyi and gab along wisma.. those 2 buggers refused to talk to me as i passed them.. just smiled and 'coughed' loudly.. esp gab, with his eyes.. i dunno how he does it but the grins in the most disturbing ways.. -_-" bleah..
