so its 4 days of rest for me.. on leave on monday and tuesday.. played bball on sunday evening.. finally got my groove back! those hooks are finally finding their targets.. and a personal note to self.. JUMP! i figured i don't jump enough when i play.. i oughta stop being so lazy just because i am tall.. was playing against a spaniard who is about my height but bigger.. and boy did i have to jump. haha.. just got home from lunch and movie with siyi.. sure brings back those good ol' memories.. met her in town and had 'la mian' at crystal jade taka.. mine was too oily.. but the beijing dumplings were good.. we caught helicopter and the hobbit of shire (harry potter and the goblet of fire).. twas an ok show.. i'm not much of a 'potty' thus, i was confused at several portions of the movie.. its another day of R&R for me before i go back to camp to bum around on wed.. another ACPC dining in on friday.. gotta wear ol' no.2 again..

highlights.. well.. nothing much actually.. woke up early on saturday (thanks to siyi -_-" haha..) to collect NIE band concert tix over breakfast at jurong.. haven't seen her for over a year.. haven't really changed all that much but it was good to be able to do some catching up.. headed down to SCH on sunday with zhen to catch the NIE band's 30th anniversary concert.. it was one of the better performances i've caught locally.. they played pretty decently (i'm a lil rusty since the last concert i've ever been to was over a year ago.. i think..).. the show ended at a lil past 7.. zhen and i took a stroll around the area in search of a place for dinner.. decided on moi lum.. some cantonese restaurant.. food was good.. should go back there again some day.. weekdays been mandane.. work then going back home to play on my ps2.. hah.. what a life..

the weather was great and i didn't have fever.. i met zhen at harbourfront at 10 on wednesday morning.. took the feeder across the causeway.. trying to put on our best 'tourist' act (hoping for better service), i got us admission tix from the counter and headed for the lil gate.. suddenly.. 'why you buy ticket?!' i glanced up and saw a familiar face standing in front, in the sentosa uniform.. haha.. twas raihana, a fellow bandsman in jj.. she told me yus (another bandsman) was working at the counter.. she took my tickets and wanted to get me a refund and of course free admission, but i politely declined.. well.. at least now i know i can get free entrance to sentosa.. anywho... we headed to siloso beach and rented rollerblades at the lil shack.. twas a lil tricky getting our groove back since both of us hadn't bladed(skated?) for a long time.. twas even more tricky going about certain sections of the walkway which were rough or bumpy.. we had to stop, hold on to each other and slowly take mini glides to clear 'em.. we managed not to fall for the entire duration.. ok.. i fell.. but that was right at the front of the rental shack.. i was just trying to stop and remove my blades but... don't worry.. i 'fell' gracefully.. it was a 'controlled' fall.. right on my hiney.. proceeded to have lunch at coaste, which was by the beach a little further down of siloso.. pizza's great but the stuff there's a lil expensive.. strolled down to underwater world next for a look see.. haven't visited for quite a bit.. and since i'm into this diving thingy.. why not? zhen was absolutely facinated by the giant spider crabs on display.. and the baby reef sharks at the touch pool.. and especially the sea angels! boy are they cute.. we manage to catch them feeding the critters.. its really cool to observe how these animals feed.. took a bus down to see the pink dolphins.. the sun was a killer but hey.. beats having it to rain on us eh? the dolphins put on a good show.. there was this kid (maybe 12 years old?) from india seated near us.. he was in jeans.. and he was absolutely eager to volunteer whenever the dolphin trainers requested for someone to enter the lagoon.. he was rejected a couple of times because they 'chose someone already' but ulitmately, he was picked.. quite reluctantly on the trainers' part of course.. he went in to chest high water.. in his jeans.. he's so gonna hate himself when he is going back to the hotel.. tourists.. twas about 4pm when the show ended.. we decided to head to PS for dinner and a movie.. we caught 'the exorcism of emily rose'.. not as scary as i thought it would be.. but enough to cut the blood supply to my right arm from frantic squeezing by zhen throughout the movie.. at times when i lost myself in my popcorn during the show, i would be 'warned' of the scary bits by a rising squeeze pressure on my arm.. its funny.. i sent her back afterwards.. raced home to catch some shut-eye coz i gotta go to work the next day.. its pretty much confirmed.. i'm officially crossing over to the air force on 12 dec 05.. i'll be flying off to tamworth on 02 jan 06.. the day after new year.. and yes, i'll be celebrating chinese new year in aussieland.. do they have ang pows there?

was off on friday.. didn't go to work for good reasons.. i was tired.. haha.. headed down to anlin's place for her birthday bbq.. i was pretty quiet that night.. more so than i usually am.. maybe because i was tired.. met a couple of her friends i've heard quite abit about.. they are well.. rather interesting.. in a good way.. don't get me wrong.. played soccer for hours and hours in the scorching sun.. (that might explain the fever i've got since sunday).. 2 days mc.. pray that i would be all well by tml.. heading down to sentosa for some fun in the sun with zhen.. no rain please.. no fever too.. thanks..

finally.. i cleared my medical..went to the aeromedical centre again for my cockpit assessment.. arrived early, about 8.. waited for the recruitment officer to arrive.. he came pretty late as he was the DO in camp the previous night.. he drove the 4 of us a short distance to draw our flight suits, boots and gloves.. got back the the aeromedical centre to change up.. feels pretty cool in the suit.. drew some stares from some civilians and staff who were there as well.. we headed to this room where the mock up of a cockpit was.. looks like one ripped from a S211.. zipped on the g-suit, life preserver and helmet and we are ready.. took turns on board and made to touch all sorts of toggles and corners in the cockpit.. when it was my turn, the MOs were like.. 'wow.. you sure are tall.. i think you'll be the tallest trainee ever in history!' well.. but of course.. the max height for a trainee is 190cm.. i'm 189.75.. i held my breath just as they made their decision.. i was worried i'd be too big to fly.. they smiled and told me i was clear to fly.. i could have screamed in joy.. after waiting for 2 years.. i can finally head to flight school.. nothing's gonna stop me from making it to the end! i'm gonna make it.. just waiting for the letter to send me off to AFS and tamworth.. no screw ups please.. for all those that insisted that i was too big to fly, f**k you! for those who believed in me, thanks! i won't let u down.. projected departure to AFS, end nov 05.. projected departure to Tamworth, mid dec..

was just channel surfing when i came across this really strange show on discovery.. twas about these 2 animal experts, who try to create mechanical mock ups of their respective animal (in this episode, the hippo and the bull shark), have all the data of these animals (such as mass, bite force and so on) entered into a computer and have them 'battle' it out in cyberspace.. there are sceens where the 2 experts would taunt and belittle each other in the most unconvincing ways.. 'ohh.. my hippos gonna break your baby shark in half..' or 'my bull shark's gonna tear your hippo limb from limb..' c'mon.. give us a break.. they always say, in America, people don't dump their trash.. they turn it into tv shows.. i'm starting to believe its true.. anyways.. its obvious that the shark's gonna get pulverised by the hippo.. the hippo has killed more humans than any other animal in the whole of Africa.. its true.. just because they appear so cute on advertisments and like nothing but weeds and veges doesn't make them the kindest of animals.. i'm sure even if a 16ft saltie was to battle the hippo, the reptile is sure to be snapped in half.. talking about salties, i've always had this fasination for crocs.. these unpredictable predators are just plain awesome.. from marauding maniacs to loving parents.. these critters perform just as well.. i especially love how these massive creatures are able to sneak right up to the face of their prey and chomp 'em down before they could even see it.. all these just makes me realise how vulnerable and pathetic we humans actually are.. each time when i scuba or take a hike in the woods, i'll remember that i'm in their world and i'll respect their territory..

it was a fruitful week.. kinda.. scuba on saturday.. soccer on sunday.. headed back to camp on sunday for the temasek 7-a-side soccer at the safti stadium.. we came in 2nd! we lost only 1 game but that was enough to keep us from the championship trophy.. we lost out to the winners by 1 point! was in a league system.. hurt my thumb in the process.. darn.. its one of those kind of injuries.. those weird ones.. ever been jabbed by the ball when playing basketball? yes.. that sort of an injury.. i hope nothings broken..
