ok.. update time.. been rather busy lately.. a little on my trip to thailand.. all in all, it was a fantastic trip.. was totally reluctant to leave for home.. really enjoyed the freedom over there.. something that has been lacking in my life for the past 9 months.. i feel really trapped and confined by the bounderies of the organisation that i am in.. saf.. hopefully, life would be much better when i become a commissioned officer.. in thailand, i spent most of my nights in the barracks in chulachomklao royal military academy.. not bad a place with a killer scenery.. the academy is enclosed by a beautiful green ridge line which rose high above.. made many friends over at the academy, many whom i still keep in contact thanks to msn.. haha.. toured the entire academy.. one real memorable event was the cycling trip with the other cadets to AFAPS (armed forces academic prep. school).. a real long cycling trip through the thai country-side.. on the return trip, it rained.. and i mean RAINED.. big fat heavy rain drops pelted on us.. wet, yes.. but fun.. i was treated like a king at thailand.. the juniors were real respectful (maybe afraid even.. but i dunno why..).. the thais are real hospitable.. real nice pple.. really hope to go there again.. haha..

my flight's in 12 hrs time.. my bag's unpacked.. i pray that i haven't left anything important in camp.. this marks the start of a totally hectic month for me.. thailand and taiwan back to back.. gonna miss out on some things in camp too, like Ex Jaguar.. but heck.. 20 more weeks to commissioning.. so near, yet so far.. january 22nd.. standing there in the safti parade square.. in my no. 1.. obtaining my single black bar upon my shoulder.. can't hardly wait.. see u guys next month.. i doubt i'd have time to meet up with any of u between 12th and 16th of sept coz i'd be busy preparing for my taiwan trip.. i would really need a break after all this training.. dunno why but lately, i have this urge to go to the zoo... haven't been there for eons!! and yes, i intend to keep my word and take u to the zoo once u are free.. i would really need that breather too.. =) i miss civilian life!! take care u all.. kiyakaha..

finally home.. after a super long week.. (since mine started on early sunday morning thanks to guard duty).. anyways.. accounts for e week.. guard duty on sunday.. didn't sleep at all.. we work in shifts so we have like 8 hours of break between each 4 hr shift.. somehow, my 8 hrs never came.. everytime it was time for me to rest, i have to do some stuff for the MIDO (Military Institute Duty Officer) of the IDS (Institute Duty Sergeant) like watch the security cameras, press the button to open the HQ glass door when someone wishes to enter etc.. thank goodness i kinda know the MIDO so i managed to spend some time watch VCDs on his laptop.. was totally groggy on monday morning.. after a night without sleep.. had interval training.. we run 3 rounds around the track, making an average of 1 min 40 secs per round.. having a 3 min rst after every 3 rounds.. can't believe i could still complete it even without sleep.. tuesday and wednesday, we had Exercise Wolf.. a night deliberate attack.. the whole of tuesday, we recce-ed the area of operations and started with our planning of the mission.. on wed evening, we headed off for our mission at Marsiling.. it was a 2 hr hike in the dark through virgin vegetation.. lotsa roots, potholes, steep slopes and so on, all in our full battle order.. with the weight and the low visibility, it was disaster waiting to happen.. but lucky no one got hurt.. we reached our objective, dumped our field packs and headed for the attack.. the enemy(charlie wing who were having their Exercise Dump-in) were on a weirdly shaped knoll.. we assaulted their postion, guns blazing.. a couple of the guys around me were declared dead, including the exercise section commander.. i had no choice but to take over and lead the guys.. we were pinned down in our position and staying put would mean more casualties.. i pushed the right flank further up to overcome the enemy trenches.. took us about half and hour to overcome the objective.. the instructors were pretty pleased as well.. whew.. got back to camp and slept at about 0530.. woke at 7.. bleah.. going off to thailand on monday.. back home on e 12th, off to taiwan on the 16th.. shucks.. what a rush!.. argh..
